Hillary Cliton, U.S. Secretary of State, gave a "reset" button to the russian foreign minister... the translation was incorrect, and instead of perezagruzka, it was written peregruzka (“overload” or “overcharged”)
Given the economic situation, I understand the US couldn't afford to give a proper something that actually costs money. Hey, I always ask my son to offer me something he made instead of some random plastic crap from china, really I do appreciate Clinton's effort to provide something homemade.
I do like the "reset" symbol, nice, bit catchy, could have worked.
However, that the foreign minister of the first power in the world couldn't have someone able to translate even one simple word is really freaky. I've heard that a message on the 10th of September wasn't translated before the 12 because the US intelligence didn't have enough translators that speaks arabic. We are talking about Russian, one of the language spoken by one of the country that has atomic bomb, that has a permanent seat at the security council at the UN.
So the dialog goes like this ( Mr Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister speaks perfectly English)
Hillary assured her Russian opposite number her staff had "worked hard" to ensure it was accurate.
"Was it right?"
"You got it wrong," he responded, also smiling, before pointing out the mistake.
I've been talking with friends if the people that are in the parliament or in the government should be an elite or should represent the population diversity. Well at least something I'm sure, they should be surrounded by the smartest, and they should be able to select these properly. She failed.
