The European commission let the US decides what nationalities can work for their providers
The European commission imposes to use Oracle for the database. This is a technological choice, and beside the obvious point of supporting US companies, it isn't a big political deal, is it ?
Well, that's the licence agreement of Oracle:
ORACLE DATABASE 10g EXPRESS EDITION LICENSE AGREEMENT
"I am not a citizen, national or resident of, and am not under the control of, the government of: Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Syria, nor any other country to which the United States has prohibited export.
I will not download or otherwise export or re-export the Programs, directly or indirectly, neither to the above mentioned countries nor to citizens, nationals or residents of those countries...."
So, in effect, the EUROPEAN commission let the United States defines who their providers are.
And you thought technology was neutral ?
