Are you listening ?

Last night were published the first results on the european parliament vote. Nearly two third of the population didn't bother voting. As lot of extreme parties, both left and right have gained a seat (or 4 in netherland).

Politicians comment are quite something...

Jose Manuel Barroso, who seems set for a second term as European Commission president following the centre-right success, thanked voters and assured them their voices would be heard.

"Overall, the results are an undeniable victory for those parties and candidates that support the European project and want to see the European Union delivering policy responses to their everyday concerns," he said.

63% of abstention, the extreme rising and he hears what ?

I know a politician will spin whatever he sees, but even if you belong to the group that benefit of the elections, you should have the decency to mention that you have a legitimacy problem.

Actually, that's even worse than that, they do sum the participation rate and makes it the eu participation rate.
That's like saying if you eat 2 grams of 20% fat cheese and 1 k of 60% one, you have eaten an average of 40% of fat.
